Tiger review
Spotlight can rapidly find almost any file, any time -- even years after it was created, and even if it is hidden among tens of thousands of other files. So as users learn to trust it, they no longer will have to worry about where they store files and what they name them. (Walt Mossberg on WSJ.com)
Keep Eyes Open, Subway's IPod Users Are Told
[...] "the New York City police reported that an increase in subway crime this year was driven almost entirely by a sharp rise in robberies and thefts of cellphones and especially of iPods, which have become a totem of prosperous urban life." (article complet @ NYT)

MusicPlasma - Mapping of music and movies
An interesting site that relates artists and works of music and cinema between each other. Navigate the Musi/Moviverse with clicks. Quite nice interface and I liked the search feature. Might help some to broaden their musical horizons.
Let me know -> commentaires!
maps
Firefox Extensions
Encore trois extensions que je vais installer:
RSS Panel 1.12 for Firefox
Displays RSS directly from originating website. This extension auto discovers an associated RSS feed for the current site, if available. It then puts a floating panel in the left upper corner of the browser window, which can be expanded to view all links from the RSS index. The panel can also be dragged and closed.
jybe 2.0 for Firefox
A Co-Browsing extension for FireFox and IE. Connect your browser to as many friends as you like. Browse the web together.
DownloadStudio 1.0 for Firefox
Adds DownloadStudio download manager into Firefox and Mozilla. Supports single file downloading and mass downloading of files, programs, images, streaming audio & video, web sites and ftp sites. Fully customizable download toolbar, right-click menus and click monitoring.

The future for us....
RssReader is a program to read RSS and Atom news feeds.
RssReader collect news in the background at user configurable intervals and warn with a little popup in the system tray that there is a new message arrived. You can click the news headline to see a short description of the news and click or open the original news web page in an RssReader browser or default browser window.
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format for syndicating news.
Many news and web log sites support RSS by adding these pictograms as or to their web pages.
Lau have a look.

20Q.net is an experiment in artificial intelligence
20Q.net is an experiment in artificial intelligence. The program is very simple but its behavior is complex. Everything that it knows and all questions that it asks were entered by people playing this game. 20Q.net is a learning system; the more it is played, the smarter it gets.
Things My Girlfriend And I Have Argued About
This guy describes the arguments he has with his girlfriend (or ex, I'm not sure...) Really makes you feel lucky with your "special one". Unless it's a rottweiler sharing your bed. Even better, makes you happy to be single !

I'm writing my thesis on Tiger Woods' remarkable shot on the back 9 at Augusta. My theory, in brief, postulates there is no physical evidence supporting the myth that his shot went in without assistance.

Beurk.

NYT: IBM makes patents available for free
To create robust and widely used standards, companies have to make their own intellectual property - usually specialized software for handling information - available either for small licensing fees or free [...]. The potential payoff is that open standards will help the entire industry grow faster, and may even work to the advantage of the company making the contributions. (full article from NYT, registration required)
Smart move. Should arrive around here in 2070 or something like that.

Tagline
